Rescue service in an emergency: 500 emergency services active at Nock Alert 2025!

An extraordinary scenario is currently playing in Bad Kleinkirchheim. Around 500 committed Red Cross employees from all over Austria have gathered to demonstrate their skills as part of the "Nock Alert 2025" exercise. This impressive event started on Thursday and will continue until Sunday. The focus is not only on the diversity of the scenarios, but also the national cooperation between the different organizations.

The exercise aims to consolidate the processes in an emergency and to strengthen the cooperation between the various units of the Red Cross. President Martin Pirz emphasizes the important role of the emergency services: "The commitment of our employees and volunteers is indispensable," he says. As part of the exercise, a large accident is simulated in an ice rink, which offers the participants the opportunity to realistically prepare for exceptional emergencies.

realistic training conditions

"Nock Alert 2025" is not just an exercise, but rather a course under quasi realistic conditions. The Carinthian state rescue commander Christian Pichler notes that it is important to create an environment that meets the real requirements for larger operations. Tried actors are also used here, which are made up as patients in order to present an authentic injury pattern. This contributes to the fact that the emergency services are prepared for the emergency as possible.

The accommodation for the participants was organized with tents that were built up by state units from various federal states. This ensures that all contributors are optimally supplied both during and according to the exercise units. The food is carried out by field kitchens of the Red Cross from Burgenland, Styria and Carinthia until June 1st.

traffic disruptions and state of emergency

The scenario in Bad Kleinkirchheim also has an impact on the traffic situation in the region. The population is asked for understanding for possible traffic disruptions, since numerous emergency vehicles from the Red Cross are in use around the clock. The exercise ensures a state of emergency in the popular holiday region, whereby activities and scenarios take place for four days, which are very similar to real emergencies.

It remains to be seen which further knowledge from this large -scale exercise is gained. The initiators and participants hope that the cooperation between the different aid units becomes even stronger and that the operational readiness for future, possibly real disasters can be increased. The exchange of experiences and strategies is crucial, especially in view of the latest recommendations for emergency services that come from Germany and underline the need for extensive therapy standards in disaster cases. These guidelines were developed with experts and experts from practical experience in order to be able to guarantee optimal patient care in crisis situations, as is emphasized on

For the residents and vacationers in Bad Kleinkirchheim, this emergency means above all an exciting and at the same time educational experience. While all of Austria is watching the impressive performance of the Red Cross employees in the coming days, one thing is certain: in Carinthia it is currently being worked on on the future of emergency aid.
