Festival of Voices: Carinthia's choirs enchant Villach on September 26th!

The “Festival of Voices” is coming to Villach and promises an unforgettable experience for music lovers and culture lovers. On Friday, September 26, 2025, the Congress Center Villach opens its doors in the Gottfried von Einem Hall at 7:30 p.m. Anyone who would like to experience the combination of tradition, emotion and diversity in choral music is invited. The event is supported by City Councilor for Culture Gerda Sandriesser, who underlines the commitment to cultural diversity in the region.

The “Festival of Voices” has been part of the Carinthian local autumn for over 20 years and always attracts many visitors with a total of eleven events across Carinthia. The event stands out with a top-class musical line-up, which includes, among others, the double sextet Velden, the Finanzchor Villach, the MMS-Seeboden 2ab and the Scharf siblings. The charming monastery priest Christian Stromberger, known for his entertaining and emotional manner, will moderate the event.

A feast for the senses

In terms of content, the “Festival of Voices” features a mixture of emotional choral music and lived culture. The focus is on the best choirs in Carinthia, which present fresh ideas and a modern interpretation of the traditional Carinthian song. Wolfgang König from the folk culture agency WMK Event & Marketing GmbH is the organizer of this special event, supported by his daughter Melanie in marketing.

The festival aims to delight music lovers, choir fans and families by offering both traditional and modern musical performances. The evening's setting is rounded off by a distinctive ambience and humorous presentations. “We want to offer every visitor a piece of culture and joy,” says König.

The entry prices are kept low with pre-sale €21 and AK €25, with free choice of seats. Tickets are on sale in advance at the Trafik Jörgl on Interspar Ringmauergasse, the Trafik Sonnberger on Burgstrasse 1 in Landskron and online at www.volkskult.at/shop available. There is also an exciting competition where you can win 5×2 cards with a simple question.

The event fits into the broader context of Carinthian cultural work, which is strongly characterized by voluntariness and volunteer work. Thanks to over 2,000 cultural associations in Carinthia, social coexistence is kept alive, as Volkskultur-Kärnten reports.

A look into the future

The “Festival of Voices” is a further step towards promoting and preserving cultural diversity in Carinthia. A lot has already been done for folk culture in 2023, and the Carinthian Folk Culture Day, which will be celebrated on June 15, 2025 in the Maria Saal open-air museum, will also make a significant contribution to this cause through various projects and events.
