30 years of Himmelberger Vierberge hiking day: a festival of nature and community!

On Whit Monday, June 9th, a very special event for hiking friends in Himmelberg is on the program again: the 30. Himmelberger Vierberge hiking day . Organized by Josef "Sepp" Bitai, who has been leading the event for 23 years now, the participants can expect a varied hike over four striking mountains: Dragelsberg, Zedlitzberg, Klatzenberg and Saurachberg.

The tour extends over a distance of around 24 kilometers and has a walking time of about six hours without breaks. At 8 a.m. the day begins with a Holy Mass, which is held by Pastor Reinhold Berger in the parish church of Himmelberg. The march at Weideplatz then takes place at 9 a.m.

The Himmelberger Vierberge hiking day has developed into a popular tradition over the years. This year, between 300 and 400 participants are expected to look forward to the adventure in nature. Josef Bitai, who launched the hiking route, is inspired by his former hikes with students from the Himmelberg elementary school, which gives him a good knack in landscape design.

A small highlight for all participants: On the occasion of the 30th anniversary, every hiker receives a badge as a memory of this special day. The hiking day is also lovingly referred to as the "little brother" of the four -mounted run and attracts not only local hikers, but also guests from other regions.
