Next autumn, Bad Kleinkirchheim will once again be transformed into a true paradise for nature lovers and hiking enthusiasts. On Saturday, October 18th, the ski legend Franz Klemm invites you to the annual hiking day. This event has become an integral part of the region's autumn activities since its first edition in 2005 to celebrate the Franz Bracket World Cup downhill. Hiking enthusiasts can look forward to a combination of sporting activity, social gatherings and breathtaking views of the Carinthian mountains. Krone reports that a day of hiking in the Nockberge is unbeatably beautiful when the gentle peaks and wide alpine pastures shine in colorful autumn colors.

The hiking day begins at 8:00 a.m. with a welcome at the Kaiserburg valley station. At 8:30 a.m. you take the train to the Kaiserburg, a ride that is free with the Kärnten Card. A mountain mass will be celebrated at the mountain station at 10:00 a.m. before the hikes start at 11:00 a.m. At 3:00 p.m. the cozy finale will take place in the ski & bike restaurant “Zum Sepp”, with musical accompaniment by Markus Wutte and band.

Franz Klemm knows the Nockberge like the back of his hand and will personally lead the “difficult” hiking route. Ski world champion Stephanie Venier, who is taking part in the hiking day for the first time this year, leads the more leisurely tour, while the middle route is accompanied by the “mountain crown”. The motto of the hiking day, “Enjoyment instead of racing pace”, promises that the focus is not only on the distance covered, but also on the experience of the hike. For Klemm and Venier, hiking is an opportunity to enjoy nature while having warm conversations with the participants. Mountain Manager emphasizes that the region is particularly beautiful in autumn and offers many opportunities to unwind.

Klemm particularly recommends the St. Oswalder Bockhütte and the Gingerhütte as insider tips to fortify yourself with regional delicacies before or after.
