Fire brigades shine with exciting exercise in the Drahhofen Castle!

Pusarnitz, Österreich - What's in the Spittal Lurnfeld? 27 respiratory protection teams from the region have just proven that they are well prepared in an emergency. Under the organization of the Pusarnitz volunteer fire brigade an exciting breathing protection exercise took place in the impressive Drahhofen Castle on May 17th, 2025. The event was not only a practical exercise, but also a sign of the high commitment of the fire brigades in the area.

The exercise included a total of nine realistic use scenarios, in which the firefighters had to demonstrate all sorts of skill and teamwork. From the correct handling of breathing apparatus to a challenging "beer box climbing" everything was offered. The different stations not only put the squads physically, but also mentally under pressure, for example by searching for a gas bottle in a smoky basement or mounting of an unconscious person.

The support of the Obervellach fire brigade with its special dangerous stose vehicle and the fire brigade Bad Kleinkirchheim, which made its aerial ladder available, should also be emphasized.
