Competition of the youth fire brigade: excitement and success in 47th district competition!

It was a hot day in the Oberpullendorf district when the 47th district fire brigade youth competition took place on June 8, 2025. According to meinzirk.at , all 44 local youth groups started despite depressing heat. The fire brigade youth now has 533 members in the district - they are the leader in Burgenland.

District fire brigade youth officer Barbara Wessely praised the supervisors and the children for the great performance in the competition. The cohesion of the young Florianis was also strong in the various teams that faced the challenges of the competitions. Special highlights are the success of Team Steinberg 1, which won both the bronze category and silver. The Landsee/St. Martin/Neudorf reached second place in the bronze ranking, while Neckenmarkt 1 won the silver ranking.

community and organization

The event was held by the volunteer fire brigade Kroatisch Minihof, which celebrates its 135th anniversary this year. Around 450 participants and guests were cared for on site, the organization of the competition was a complete success. For this, the local commander Thomas Buzanich received the largest trophy for his committed helper team.

"Comradeship and cohesion are the most important aspects of the youth fire brigade," emphasized the young participants. This was also underlined by the fire brigade officer, State Councilor Heinrich Dorner, who highlighted the social importance of the fire brigades in his speech. In Burgenland, over 18,000 volunteers are involved in the fire service and youth work. District fire brigade commander Martin Reidl made it clear: "Youth is our future!" What is certain is that the fire brigade actively advocates to inspire children and adolescents for fire work.

A look into the future

The next district fire brigade performance competition is already in sight-it will take place on June 14th in Pilgersdorf. Such competitions are not only a highlight for young people, but also a valuable opportunity to show their skills and measure themselves against other groups. Participation in such events not only promotes team spirit, but also opens up new contacts and friendships, such as "https://www.ff-wittlich.de/jugendfeuerwehr-stadtmitte-zent-zeltlager-im-burgenland-oesterreich/"> ff-wittlich.de in an earlier contribution from a tent camp in Burgenland.

The fire brigade youth in Austria has proven to be a living community and shows that it is always ready to face the challenges - whether heat, rain or cold. For the future we can be excited to see how these young heroes will be in the upcoming competitions!
