In the past few days, 22 sommelièr: e have been able to look forward to exciting further training in Southern Burgenland. As part of a two-day "Brush Up" program, which took place from June June 5, 2025, the focus was on the leading locations of the Burgenland wine: Welschriesling and Blaufränkisch. The event was used as a valuable opportunity to learn more about domestic wine production and to refresh your knowledge. The start of the first day was an e-bike tour from Oberwart over the picturesque Csaterberg, where the participants could enjoy the impressive landscape inside. In the wine bar Rainer Stubits and Mathias Jalits, the first tasting was then set. The tour continued to the Eisenberg, where Tom Wachter presented his highly estimated Blaukish wines. The wineries Stefano and Krutzler were also visited in German shooters before the first day ended with a snack and a tasting at the Wallner winery.

The second day in the sign of the Uhudler

The focus was on the Burgenland cult drink Uhudler on Saturday. The Uhudlerei Mirth offered an introduction to this special drink, which many participants made: inside. The culmination of the program was the tasting of Uwe Schiefer's wines, which was enthusiastically received. The response from the participants experienced in the sommelier is consistently positive, many announced that it will soon return for a good glass of wine and to further explore the variety of southern Burgenland.

Speaking of diversity: The wine scene in South Burgenland has a lot to offer. An interesting player is the Gasler Weinhof in Moschendorf, a family business that has been relating to quality -oriented wine production since 1998. Weinidylle emphasizes that the wines from Gassler are known for their fruity-tart sound, especially the Blaufnänkisch- und Welschriesling varieties. These are characterized by notes of cherry, blackberry and strong apple fruit.
