Schlaining crowns the master - Bad Tatzmannsdorf celebrated as runner -up!
On June 8, 2025, the time has finally come: The decision on the championship title in the 1st grade south is certain. The ASKÖ Schlaining secures the master cup with a goalless draw (0-0) against SC Bad Tatzmannsdorf and celebrates the promotion to the 2nd League Süd. Bad Tatzmannsdorf can also be happy despite the draw, because they too are stuck as runner -up and climb.
A round before the end was the climb for both teams in dry cloths. This means that fans can look forward to exciting games in the coming season. In autumn there was also no goal to see in the first duel between these two teams, which only heated up the tension. Bad Tatzmannsdorf was dependent on a home win, but the shots were in vain. Especially in the second half, Bad Tatzmannsdorf took command, but failed due to its own effectiveness.
intensive game and heated moments
The game was shaped by the hustle and bustle, which referee Gökhan Orhan often called on the scene. Many yellow cards were the result and the minds boiled over. Istvan Alföldi missed a promising chance from five meters in the 53rd minute, while Patrick Bürger met the Obernetz in the 71st minute with a header. Adam Csire von Schlaining also dared a dangerous shot from 16 meters, which stroked just above the gate (74th minute). In injury time Patrick Bürger put an end to the goal celebration with a free kick.
After the final whistle, there were unsightly scenes: spectators stormed the field and packed up among the players. The referee was forced to end the game prematurely. Despite these unrest, Harald Füzi handed over the master cup to the cheering players from Schlaining. The captain was confronted with other unsightly scenes for the master - an unnecessary aftertaste in an otherwise positive moment.
A look into the future of Burgenland football
The Burgenland Football Association (BFV) is also faced with an important decision. The successor of Hans Füzi as a sporting director has not yet been clarified. There are currently two applicants for this position: Didi Heger, who works as a LAZ site manager in Eisenstadt, and Patrick Glavanics, who heads the Burgenland football academy. The decision should be made by the end of November and an election committee has already been fixed to create the official election proposal. The developments here could have an impact on the future of Burgenland football, because a good sporting director is needed for the next steps. Incidentally,The championship 1991/92 was the 44th Burgenland football championship, which was held by the Burgenland Football Association and has been continued in various leagues since then. A long tradition that gets new life again through the rise of Schlaining and Bad Tatzmannsdorf.
In any case, fans can look forward to an exciting new season in the II. League South - the two teams have already left a lasting impression with their performance!
