Huge fire in Andau: Six fire brigades save family home!

In the night of Monday, in Andau, in the Neusiedl am See district, there was a fire in a family home. The fire brigade was alerted at 11:00 p.m. by the son of the home owner, who discovered the impending disaster. Six fire brigades immediately moved out with a total of 86 people and 18 vehicles to prevent worse things. Fortunately, there was a material damage, there were no injuries.

The main problem for the emergency services was the burning roof structure made of wood, which had hidden under the sheet metal part. In order to be able to combat the flames more effectively, two lifting devices had to be used that opened the roof skin and removed the metal elements. On Monday morning, the fire could finally be considered under control, but there were still some embers that remained despite the intensive extinguishing work.
