Career change in Stegersbach: baker becomes successful masseur!
In Stegersbach, Thomas Panner made a radical professional change. The 52-year-old, who once worked as a baker and confectioner, has now changed careers and is working as a masseur in his wife, Tina Weiss-Panner's, beauty salon. Before delving into the world of massage, Panner trained as a baker and confectioner, but also had a varied professional career - from the logistics of a catering company to positions as a warehouse manager in a furniture store and at a greengrocer.
Despite this varied career, Panner found his true calling in 2021 and began training as a commercial masseur. In this context, he founded the company “Pure Massage OG” together with his brother, which specializes in health and relaxing treatments. His customers mainly come from wellness hotels and the surrounding area. This shows that the profession of masseur, which comes from French and has been used since 1876, is also very popular in Austria.
The cosmetic salon: “Pure Skin Aesthetics”
His wife Tina Weiss-Panner (43) also works in a related field. After training as a beautician and successfully completing her master’s examination, she opened her own cosmetics salon “Pure Skin Aesthetics” in Stegersbach in 2019. Here she offers a variety of treatments including anti-aging, hydrafacial and specialty peels. So emphasis is not only placed on the external appearance, but also on holistic care.
In order to meet the increasing demands, Tina is planning to move the salon to the new “Re-Treat Health Center” in Stegersbach at the beginning of 2026. With an area of 155 square meters, the new salon is not only larger, but also offers space for more treatment rooms - from three to five. Additional specialists such as two podiatrists, a manicurist and an eyelash extension specialist will also work there.
Wellness in focus
The massages that Thomas Panner offers in his new company are all about well-being. The “Pure Massage OG” is aimed at a broader clientele who value relaxing and health-promoting treatments. Experts in the massage industry know how important it is to offer customers optimal care. The job of a masseur is not only intended to relax the body, but also to actively contribute to people's health and well-being. The combination of years of experience and in-depth training enables Panner to offer his clients a wide range of treatments.
With these two offers, which combine the areas of massage and cosmetics, the Panners in Stegersbach seem to have found a recipe for success. The couple is carefully taking new steps, always mindful of their customers' needs, while at the same time constantly improving their own work environment.
