USV St. Anna/Aigen relies on young talents: The squad in 2025 in focus!

Jennersdorf, Österreich - In the regional class, the UPS St. Anna/Aigen does not stop at the spot. On Tuesday, July 15, 2025, the club announced that it focuses on the promotion of young talents in his newcomers. This strategy is particularly exciting after some players have said goodbye to the team.

The departures cannot be overlooked: Jonas Gmeindl, Tahir Bilalic, Anej Polak and Sandro Schleich left the club. Despite these changes, the UPS relies on young people to set new impulses. The newcomers that all come from their own offspring show promising perspectives for the coming season.

Young talents for the regional league

Among the new faces are Tobias Frankl (17, striker), who has already gained initial experience in the regional league and has been in the club since 2016/17. Felix Hoger (19, defender) is also an “own plant” that has spent his entire career at the UPS. A returnee is Jannik Schlegel (18, striker), who comes back from FC Gleisdorf and has already had a few short missions in the regional league. Also new in the squad is the talented goalkeeper Alex Sipek (born 2006), who after three years outside the club now dares to take his first steps in the fighting team.

Not only enrich the team's own players, external newcomers have also found their way to St. Anna. 18-year-old goalkeeper Fabian Schober-Müller, who has completed his training at SK Sturm, will be guarding the goal in the future. Max Höller (18, midfielder) comes from a national league team and brings extensive experience from various clubs. 21-year-old Marc Kögl, with a solid record in the Landesliga, ensures additional stability in the middle of the field. The 22-year-old Eldin Sehic, who was most recently active at SG Waidhofen/Ybbs, strengthens the storm, while Angelo Timotej Rec (22, central defender) from NK Kety Emmi Bistrica entered the team.

a sporty departure

"The young talents should prove themselves in the regional league and fill the gaps that have arisen through the departures," explains the coach of the USV St. Anna led by Alois Hödl. The current situation offers players an excellent opportunity to develop, especially in the light of the upcoming changes in the regional league. From the 2026/27 season there will be a fundamental reform that will be specified in spring, which could support the association in continuing to be successful and promoting young players. According to a recently published analysis, there will probably be no Styrian relegation in the last year before the reform, which could create additional scope for the development of young players, as [SN.AT] (https://www.s.at/sport/regionalsport/REGIONALISPORT-AB-BUNDAL-FRUEH-FRUEH year-168931393) reports.

With a fresh wind and a strong youth offensive, the UPS St. Anna stands up for the future and hopes for a successful season in which the newcomers can actively support the association. The goal remains clear: talents should not only be shaped, but also integrated in the league so that the UPS remains on the road to success.

The fans can be curious to see how the new team will be doing in the coming season. The first competitive games are already in the starting blocks, and the test games begin in January 2023. How the USV St. Anna will present itself against SAK on March 4, 2023 remains.
